Pine furniture ? animal trend is back

Furniture in Los Angeles is experiencing the revival of an old trend, according to experts.
Tables and beds with lions' legs and bookcases with birds' talons are among the choices marking a renewed interest in items with animal features, a trend dating back to ancient Egypt where beds often had carved bull legs, gazelle hooves or lion feet.
One interior designer puts forward the opinion that animal motifs on a table, chair or bed give a room "a sense of history".
Speaking to the LA Times newspaper, interior designer Frank Webb said: "It is a harkening back to antiquity, to forms seen throughout the ages."
Not all LA dwellers are keen to add an historical element to their décor. Actor and ex-husband of Angelina Jolie, Billy Bob Thornton, has said he has a phobia of French antiques and gold-carved wooden chairs.
